Indoor & Basement Pools

Indoor Swimming Pool Construction

Year-round swimming in homes, basements, hotels, clubs and schools – with the heating, ventilation and dehumidification an indoor pool needs.

Engineered for Comfortable, Year-Round Swimming

An indoor pool is more than a pool inside a room. Warm water evaporates continuously, so the space needs proper ventilation and dehumidification to prevent condensation, odour and damage to the building. We plan the pool together with the enclosure – structure and waterproofing, water heating, air handling, lighting, slip-resistant finishes and an accessible plant room – so the pool is comfortable to use in every season. Indoor pools suit private homes and basements, hotels, clubhouses, fitness centres and schools.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is different about building an indoor swimming pool? ▾
Besides the pool itself, an indoor pool needs heating, ventilation and dehumidification to control condensation and humidity, moisture-resistant finishes for the room, and good access to a plant room. These are planned together with the architect and HVAC consultant.
Can a swimming pool be built in a basement? ▾
Yes. Basement pools need careful waterproofing, drainage, plant-room planning and air handling. We work with the structural engineer and architect from the design stage.
Can an indoor pool be heated? ▾
Yes. Indoor pools are usually heated so they can be used year-round. Heat pumps and temperature-control systems keep the water at a comfortable temperature.
Why does an indoor pool room need dehumidification? ▾
Warm pool water constantly evaporates into the room. Without ventilation and dehumidification, moisture condenses on walls, ceilings and glass, which causes discomfort, odour and damage to the building over time.
What does an indoor swimming pool cost? ▾
Cost depends on pool size and depth, the structure, finishes, heating and air-handling equipment, and the enclosure. We share an itemised quote after reviewing the drawings or visiting the site.
Is maintaining an indoor pool easier than an outdoor pool? ▾
Indoor pools collect less dust and leaves, but water chemistry, filtration and air quality still need regular care. We offer maintenance contracts for indoor pools.
